The Heritage of Scotland Tour starts in Edinburgh before moving on to St Andrews and Inverness. Play famous Links Courses and experience the vibrant Culture, rich Heritage and generous Hospitality Scotland has to offer. The tour offers a combination of golf and sightseeing and an insight into Scotland’s historical past. For instance Edinburgh Castle, Glamis Castle and Fort George. The British Golf Museum in St Andrews gives an insight into the history of the game. Take a boat trip on Loch Ness. Play Kingsbarns, the Old Course, Castle Stuart and Royal Dornoch.

The Heritage of Scotland Tour

Day 1

  • Arrive at Edinburgh airport
  • Transfer to the luxury 5 star Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh.
  • Take time to relax in the beautiful surroundings before evening dinner in the hotels Number One restaurant. Retaining its Michelin star for the tenth consecutive year in 2012, the restaurant has a reputation for world class cuisine. Executive Chef Jeff Bland and his team provide outstanding creative dishes using only the finest and freshest Scottish produce.

Day 2

  • After breakfast you enjoy a guided tour of Edinburgh Castle for a guided tour. Perched on an extinct volcano, this instantly recognisable fortress is a powerful national symbol and part of Old and New Towns of Edinburgh World Heritage Site.
  • You will enjoy lunch in one of the Scottish capitals top restaurants, followed by either some retail therapy or a memorable visit to The Scotch Whisky Experience for a full tour and tasting.
  • From Edinburgh you will be transferred to the Old Course Hotel Resort & Spa in St Andrews.

Day 3

  • After breakfast overlooking the Old Course and town of St. Andrews you will play the New or Jubilee golf course.
  • The New Course is a classic links course and is often regarded as the oldest “new” course in the world, having been set out in 1895 by Old Tom Morris. The Jubilee Course meanwhile has developed from a basic 12-hole layout into what many consider to be the toughest test of golf at St Andrews.
  • In the afternoon, you may wish to visit the British Golf Museum or take in some of St. Andrews many fine golf shops such as the famous Auchterlonies or the Tom Morris shop, which is located adjacent to the 18th green on the Old Course. Alternatively, you may prefer to relax and unwind at the Kohler Waters Spa at the Old Course Hotel – the first KOHLER spa experience outside the USA.

Day 4

  • For the second round of your St. Andrews Experience we will transfer you to Kingsbarns Golf Club. The moment you arrive at Kingsbarns, you know youre somewhere special.
  • Kyle Phillips designed this Top 100 Ranked golf course and it is set in an amphitheatre along the coast, meaning that nearly every hole boasts spectacular views of the North Sea.
  • Following lunch in the Links Clubhouse we will transport you to Glamis Castle, the ancestral home of the Earls of Strathmore for over 600 years. Glamis Castle is a living, breathing monument to Scottish hospitality; a place of enjoyment, reflection, laughter and wonder for all. Depending on the size of your party, you may have the opportunity to enjoy evening dinner in the Victorian family dining

Day 5

  • Today brings you the moment you have been waiting for the moment when you step onto the 1st tee of the world famous Old Course, known as the traditional “Home of Golf”.
  • “Victory anywhere is always sweet, but to win at St. Andrews is so special it rises above everything else”. The Old Course, as described by Seve Ballesteros, after winning the Open at St. Andrews in 1984.
  • To end a perfect day of golf at St. Andrews, enjoy evening dinner in the Road Hole restaurant overlooking the famous Old Course.

Day 6

  • Today you will be transferred to Inverness in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and as you travel, experience a scenic journey through some of Scotlands most spectacular scenery.
  • On arrival in the Highlands, you will enjoy a short cruise on the famous Loch Ness, which will transport you over the mysterious waters to the majestic ruins of Urquhart Castle. From here you will continue your journey and check into the Kingsmills Hotel

Day 7

  • This morning, you will play on one Scotlands newest courses, Castle Stuart. This championship links course overlooks the Moray Firth together with well-known landmarks that are synonymous with Inverness and the Black Isle namely the Kessock bridge, Chanonry Lighthouse and Fort George.
  • After lunch, you will be transported to the Johnstons of Elgin Cashmere mill and shop. Johnstons has been making beautiful knitwear, clothing and accessories from the most luxurious wools known to man for over two centuries. Here, you will experience a guided tour which will end in the well-stocked mill shop, giving you a chance to browse and purchase some of the beautiful cashmere garments on sale.

Day 8

  • After breakfast, you will travel further north to Dornoch where you will enjoy a round at The Royal Dornoch Golf Club.
  • The Royal Dornoch is a spellbinding course located in a timeless setting, attracting and mesmerizing golfers from all over the world. It is a wild and isolated course and yet, at the same time, is incredibly beautiful.
  • Describing The Royal Dornoch, Tom Watson, five times Open Champion said, Its the most fun Ive ever had on a golf course. And when asked what the hardest shot in golf was, he answered, the second shot to the second green at Royal Dornoch.
  • On your return journey you will visit the newly renovated Glenmorangie Distillery Visitor Centre. Here you will experience unparalleled access to the Glenmorangie whisky making process which is demonstrated live by the Men of Tain.
  • The tour will conclude with a tasting of Glenmorangie Original and Glenmorangie Nectar Dr, which is extra matured in Sauternes Barriques and accompanied by French delicacies.

Day 9

  • Departure day and transfer to Edinburgh airport.
